ICHJ accepts only an original article studied using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research methodologies.

What to submit to the ICHJ's online submission

Below are the documents you have to submit to the journal's online submission:

  1. Title page,
  2. Manuscript,
  3. Supplementary materials.

Preparing Title Page

The title page consists of the article's title, the author's names and affiliations (with email addresses), acknowledgements, information on funding sources,  author contributions, author biographies, a declaration of conflicting interests, a statement of data availability,  a statement of APC payment after article acceptance, and a comprehensive address for the corresponding author.

Preparing the Manuscript

The manuscript includes an abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgement, and references. It should be devoid of any information that might disclose the authors' identities or their affiliations. 

Below are the manuscript details:

Abstract

  • Should be structured;
  • 300 words;
  • Consists of introduction, methods, results, and conclusion;

Keywords

Background

  • The manuscript should provide a background, missing gap, and purpose of the study;
  • Consists of a maximum of 4 paragraphs.

Methods

  • The manuscript should include all details essential for other researchers to replicate the study;
  • The details include research design, research subjects or respondents, inclusion and exclusion criteria, sample size, sampling method, and recruitment procedure;
  • Data collection tools: if using a standard questionnaire, researcher-made questionnaire, or modified questionnaire. The questionnaire’s reliability and validity tests result;
  • Data analysis method and its software.

Results

  • Written in a chronological sequence;
  • Should not duplicate data that have been presented in the tables.

Tables

  • Up to 3 tables;
  • Each table must have a title, and appear in order in the text;
  • A footnote under the table must sequentially explain the abbreviations used in the table;
  • Footnote font is a 10-point font. Sample tables can be found here.

Discussion

  • Do not repeat the information that has been mentioned in the result;
  • Emphasize the new and crucial aspects of the study;
  • Explain the study findings by providing an argument or counterargument with the published literature;
  • Highlight the strengths and limitations of the study;
  • Provide the implications of the study for future research.

Conclusion

Describe the final result that the authors have reached.

Reporting guidelines

Please consider the checklists below when writing the manuscript:

  • A qualitative study should adhere to the use of Consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research (COREQ) checklist;
  • A cross-sectional study should comply with the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) checklist.

Acknowledgment

  • Authors may list significant contributors to the study;
  • The difference of authors and contributors can be learned in this link;
  • State the funding source of the study.

Conflict of interest

Authors must report a conflict of interest at the time of submission

Citing Multiple Works

The two articles should be separated by a semicolon
